Overview of Mathematics
Brownhill Learning Community believes that the skills of numeracy and wider mathematical understanding are key life skills that all students need to develop, in order to understand the world in which we live. We aim to provide a mathematics education that will enable our students to investigate, communicate and manipulate information in a powerful way that will aid the development of their logical and creative thinking. We firmly believe that making mistakes is part of student learning and we celebrate these in class as ways of discovering and correcting misconceptions. Our goal is to develop an environment which supports questioning and investigation across a range of mathematical experiences to enable students to develop a positive and confident attitude towards their mathematics.
